Incompetent Management; Declining Property

These apartments appear nice at first glance - my wife and I loved the floor plan, and the move-in deal was excellent. Our first indication that everything was not on the up-and-up was when they declined to allow us to tour the unit we would be moving into, but we decided to move forward anyhow. This led to us having a list of maintenance concerns (including major ones, such as an inoperative washing machine) to submit the first month we were there. It literally took weeks to fix the few items they did (several were never fixed and we gave up), despite the policy stated on the management company's website (FPI Management Inc.) of a 48-hour response to maintenance concerns. In addition, for the first several months, our neighbors were nice, quiet, pleasant people. They have since been replaced by loud, screaming, smokers who have no regard for the fact that they are living in an apartment community. Our entire unit now reeks of cigarettes (ruining all of our furniture), and we have called the apartment management numerous times (and the police twice - who have failed to respond both times) regarding our problematic neighbors, all to no avail. In addition, the parking situation is poor, with not enough spaces available, and lights that are continually on the fritz. Attempts to speak with management in a reasonable manner are met with indifference and highly defensive attitudes. They act as though they are doing tenants favors by providing the bare minimum of service, and the words 'above and beyond' have never entered their vocabulary. Word to the wise: Learn from our mistake, don't be seduced by the thin veneer of this being a nice place to live - IT ISN'T!!!

We must be neighbors. I also have screaming, smoking neighbors. I walk to my unit and I smell smoke for the rest of the night. I have called to complain but you cannot prevent people from smoking in thir apartment even if the smell travels throughthe units. As for the yelling neighbors, I have complained and management is aware of the problem yet it continues. Doors slamming and shaking the whole building, every profanity yelled at the top of thie lungs and people in front yelling as well. I feel more as if I lived in the projects than a safe comfortable apartment complex.

We too must be neighbors! I am listening to loud profanity right now out my window and it is 12:00 midnight!!! I have also complained to management about our disrespectful neighbors and the constant domestic fights with lights being broken, doors being slammed, etc. I am currently in the process of moving away from this ghetto filled residence. It is a shame to have to pay what we do and have no peace as tenants. I wish I could do more to fight for our rights as tenants!
