Bordeaux House Apts in Atascadero, CA in my opinion is one of the worst apartments I have ever rented and lived in. To make a long story short and to just state the facts:

In the few years I lived there:

1. Police shot and killed an intoxicated man at Bordeaux apartments that was pointing a gun at them as he opened the door in some sort of domestic violence type call.

2. A rather large drug bust or two have occurred on the property at Bordo House in the last year alone.

3. In years prior, a suspect was apprehended for trying to break into people's bedroom windows. It was believed that he may have been a pedofile.

4. Due to mail being stolen inside the mailrooms, you can not check your mail after dark, since mailrooms have to be locked to prevent mail theft.

5. Constant noise such as loud car stereos and loud neighbors are commonplace in most of the areas at Bordeau House Apts. It was not uncommon to experience this at 12 to 3 am in the morning, especially on the weekends.

6. Office staff at Bordeau has a reputation at the Bordeau apartments as being mostly rude and unpleasant to deal with.

7. It's less than a mile from Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero California, which houses the criminally insane and sexual predators. I guess thats great if you work there and want to live close to work, but not so great if any of those people were to ever escape for some reason. That was always running in the back of my head while I lived at Bordeaux. Maybe thats being just a bit paraniod, but nevertheless, it's not exactly a place you want to be living right down the road from in my opinion.

8. For the most part, you can forget about getting most of your deposit back if you decide to move. I'm sure there may be exceptions to this, but in reading another review on this site and going by my experience as well as a few others I have talked to, it sounds like "Par for the course" as they say.
It doesn't matter if you clean until your heart's content... it seems to me that the contracted cleaning persons will find something dirty and charge you for it. This is how the contractors make their money, and so naturally they will "find" something dirty.

These are simply my experiences and my opinion of Bordeaux after living there for a few years. There may be people that live at Bordeau that just absolutely love it and have had nothing but great experinces there.I just certainly wasn't one of them. In closing, I hope this review of Bordeau House Apartments was helpful to those persons considering renting here.
