Cambridge Village is a beautifully landscaped apartment community. Just be warned that it's a much different story when you look beyond the manicured lawns. The interior of my apartment is old and worn. Every wall of every room is painted bright, gloss white which is very harsh on the eyes. They also painted right over tape, stickers, hair, and dust. The bathroom is embarrassing and reminds me of what you'd find in a motel. The tub/shower enclosure should have been replaced years ago. Instead, they've been coating the floor of the tub with some kind of paint to get a few more years out of it. There is also a large, rectangular mirror in the bathroom that has several stains and marks coming through from the back. Above the mirror is a dirty, rusty light fixture they didn't care enough to replace. The kitchen cabinets have oak fronts and look nice from the outside. Unfortunately, the shelves are made of cheap particle board that has absorbed all sorts of stains over the years. Because particle board can't be cleaned, I have to keep the shelves covered with paper so they don't come in contact with food, dishes, and glassware. The appliances have suffered years of neglect from previous tenants and have their share of war wounds. They work, though. I've had a few problems with the office staff since I moved here last summer. Their attitude seemed to change the moment I signed my lease. My maintenance requests have taken upwards of a week for a response which I feel is too long. Cambridge Village is a nice place to live. You have to take the bad with the good. It all balances out in the end.
