Not happy, but not disappointed...

I've lived in the complex for a couple of years now and have found a few things to be true:
1 - The staff in the office is hot and cold...some of them are great and bend over backwards to be courteous, friendly and helpful, while others are "what the hell do you want" kind of people. Eh, you're going to get that anywhere.
2 - I don't know any of my neighbors - none. I feel like I live in a hole in the corner of Bakersfield. No one seems to socialize around here other than a smile as you pass each other while walking to the mailbox.
3 - Service requests are handled, but not in the time frame that you'd like. Funny, though, when the management needs to do something' It's done IMMEDIATELY, regardless of it being convenient for you or not.
4 - The prices here are RIDICULOUS. Wasting money on rent, instead of buying, is a choice I've made, but I will not be renewing my lease again when it comes up. I'm sure by then it will be raised another $100 and I can take the time to find something MUCH cheaper...
5 - I just walked through a field of leaves to get to my mailbox. Ugh. Nature comes at a price, eh'

I have a different feel for this place. First of all, I find people friendly when you take time to know them. I find the staff responsive and helpful. I think the gardeners do a great job, even with all the leaves that come down. The gardeners clean the leaves once a week and that seems reasonable to me. Service requests are responded to within a day or two--again that seems reasonable.

You must not live near my apartment ;) The only time I ever see anyone is when they are dashing to and from their car, or stopping at the mailbox. Maybe it's the society we live in? People are just consumed with being in a hurry and GETTING to wherever they need to go.
