This apartment building is pretty decent for the most part. I've been here for awhile now and began paying rent at $675/mo. There is no rent control so it is raised every year. The manager is a nice older lady that sometimes has her days....like everyone else! However, next week will be her last because she's retiring and we will soon get another manager. Over the past two years the building has been bought and sold twice. The new owners haven't been around long enough, yet to actually critique them. The building maintenance and ground upkeep has always been great! Whenever there is a problem it is taken care of right away....though i haven't had any maintenance problems while under the new owners, yet. The laundry price has gone up considerably with the new owners! It used to be 75 cents a load (wash/dry), now its $1.75 a load. The old owners also graced us with paying our basic/standard cable fees every month. The new owners put that to a stop! Parking is good also. You get two parking spots to every unit, plus an option for a two-car garage (manually operated)....either/or, not both. Besides having my car stolen twice from the building complex, the neighborhood is ok. Even though it's gated, the building security isn't that great. The barbed wire had to be taken down on top of the brick walls (where the cars are parked) because of complaints from home owners in the neighborhood saying it was, "unsafe". Not sure why, but now making easy access to jump the wall. There are 60 units here and so many people moving in and out all the time, so can't really tell who lives here and who doesn't. However, the new owners just changed all the light fixtures, so the building is pretty well lit at night! Everything you need is nearby; fast food on every corner, grocery stores, malls, liquor stores, schools, freeways, etc. It's pretty quiet, not many kids at all. Gets a little noisy during the summer because everyone is in the pool area. The neighbors aren't really that friendly....no one really speaks to one another except "hi and bye". Maybe you can change that!
05/25/07 update. Yeah, ok. I just had some maintenance issues while under the new owners. It took about a week before they got to the problem because the new manager did not check the drop box. In fact, she did not even know about the box until we (the tenants) kindly informed her. Let's see...oh, when calling the management company on a couple of issues recently the customer service was not very good at all. The first time I was hung up on (intentionally) and the second time, was told what they thought I wanted to hear and then rushed me off the phone. Oh, and got a letter that my rent is being raised.
04/03/08 update. the standard of cleanliness and upkeep of grounds has slacked off under new ownership/management. The laundry room is filthy and the property is not lit appropriately at night, anymore! The hired maintenance is not up to par and quite sloppy at work. Not to mention the parking security gate not functioning properly. Where's the security with one half of the gate open and the other closed' The manager's office hours have also been removed and now the door is always locked....passively informing us we are not welcome, except to drop off the rent through the slot on their apartment door.

Management is lazy and they do not prioritize their tenants. We pay rent we deserve what we are paying for to be kept up and fixed.

yes the management is really lacks about thingls almost like they dont care. they know just enogh english to get the job done but somethings are lost in translation they can seem almost rude, when i have a complay i feel like i am bothering them,,, the only time they are nice is when i given them my rent. I also heard that there were some break ins just a moth ago, almost a month went by then they decided to tell all of us about what happene. I dont think i will be hear much longer the amount of money they are asking and what we get is not really worth it... i would think twise before moving hear. many starnge people just waliking around looking to see what you are doing like they have nothing else to do.
