Thank God, it's over...I just moved out last week and I'm so glad I won't have to deal with this place anymore. In 3 years, there were 4 different managers. The first three didn't care about anything and were too dumb to manage the place. Nothing got done. Nothing ever got clean until the place finally fell apart, literally. The elevator has been broken for 2 months. The common areas are filthy with dog pee, excrement, and trash. The stairwells are full of flies. There has been many cases of domestic violence, frequent fighting and screaming from mentally disturbed tenants. Many visits from the Belmont Police. One crazy woman would insult me and my dog on a daily basis as she walked by. She threw a beer bottle on the sidewalk from her second floor apartment and almost hit me. All the good tenants, the ones who cared the most about their home and paid their rent on time eventually all moved out or got evicted. The management company Zukin does not care about the tenants or the building. They don't spend any money in keeping the place clean, safe or updated with new fixtures or new materials. They don't replace carpet unless they really have to. They never answer the phone and take at least 3 weeks to answer a letter. They are rude and unprofessional. They have no sense of customer service, and do not respect their tenants. Their philosophy is to do as little as possible. While the elevator was often not functioning, they refuse to have it repaired until it finally broke down and was not useable.
The swimming pool is not maintained. The County Health Dept. had to shut it down this summer because it was not clean and didn't have enough chemicals in it to make it safe for public use. The next day, the manager removed the shut-down notice from public view.

Speaking of the current manager, Ms. Campbell, she is the most unprofessional bldg manager I've ever met. She is rude to tenants, mean, aggressive, and seems to suffer from bipolar symptoms. Her only duties seem to be sweeping the street sidewalk at 8 am in the morning while the rest of the building remains filthy. The maintenance guy is clueless. The common areas haven't not been pressured washed for at least 2 years and dirt and grime has accumulated. It is embarassing to have guests over as this place is truly "ghetto". It's sad because I met some truly nice people there who really cared about the building. Fortunately, everyone seems to be moving out.
