The recent garage painting was done INSTEAD of the extra security cameras and gated entry that has been talked about for several years. The white paint has mostly served to give thieves more light to operate.
Management--ugh!!!!! Unresponsive, with a recent history of trying to rob exiting tenants of security deposits. The managers seem to be operating in a haze, and have to sometimes be asked several times to do something. However, if they are trying to get rid of someone from the building, they seem to have no trouble taking quick action to make that tenant's life miserable.
The children in the building are allowed to run around in the garage, ride bikes in the parking areas--activities that are prohibited according to the lease agreement.
No emergency lighting duing power outages. Good luck if you're in the hallway, stairway, elevator or garage when the lights go out.
The units are overpriced compared to other apartments in Belmont--one unit has been empty for months because it is overpriced and the owners refuse to lower the price.
On the plus side, the apartments are bigger than many in the area. The building is relatively quite unless you live under a family with three children or people who walk and run like a herd of buffalo.

New management and much needed improvements have occured since this review was posted in 2002. They are much more critical in screening prospective tenants and this has made for a much better place to live.
