Agree with fellow tenants below. We don't have a manager here. Requests are still pending for months. Every day the office is closed or MIA managers. The assistant manager, weekends, does not care about requests or us, but spends the time on his cell. The improvements were not needed and created nonstop annoyances and noise and stopped the "quiet enjoyment" we are entitled to as tenants by law. Now they want to paint the outside too' How long and months will that take and disturb us' How much more do we have to endure' The City Council of Belmont has been inundated with complaints about Belmont Terrace from current and former residents. Ask them. We need a live-in manager and one who responds, and is not 21 years old. The new lady we have seen once.
The construction took forever with dust all over, and still no one has vacuumed once or cleaned up all the dust. We asked for weeks, nothing. They just put carpet over the dust. We were told it would take a few weeks, and it was sprung on us with a note taped to our doors. No notice. IT IS STILL MONTHS LATER and not done. Simple carpeting takes a month' The colors are awful. We had nice classy earth tones before this. Now we have a motel look, red, green gold, brown, maroon. Our kids step over dust, construction tools, nails. I agree with the one who said we should have a reduction in rent for all this noise and inconvenience. Will anyone ever vacuum'
The laundry rooms are hot steam rooms. We need and have asked for a vent in there. Forget that. The new lease we signed makes us call a community officer and not the police, so tonight when there are loud parties, we have no manager to knock on the door.
The pool now has trash cans filled with food, attracting bees and ants when it used to be "No food at the pool" which was much nicer. We had a classy pool area and apartment without any food allowed, but no more. Now two trash bins taking up room at the pool and no one empties them, so we lie out and smell food, see bees or ants attracted to the food. Why allowed food at the pool' What is happening here' We don't have a janitor anymore. They let Jose go the best guy this building ever had.
The outside entry door locks are so old, that let anyone in this building, just try it with any key and turn it. Will anyone ever fix these' About 5 of us have told the managers and left them notes for about 2 months now and nothing changes.
Please stop the construction. Sure as soon as this 4-month carpeting/indoor painting is done, they will start inconveniencing us with a 4-month external paint job with no more than a day or two notice. This is not right. Try living here instead of managing from afar, Essex. No one cares about us or asks us what we'd like to see or what we need. We, like most here, are planning to move.
