Carlmont Woods, so far, has been good to us. Reading the other reviews has been interesting. Commenting about the ant problem, we did have an ant problem in our apartment, but we took care of it ourselves. If you're thinking that calling management would have been the correct choice, sure, but I'm a do-it-yourselfer, so correcting the tiny problem was easy. I have no complaints concerning the plumbing. I've had no problems so far. The appliances are fairly new, except for the dishwasher. The old-timer still works, but you can tell it's been around the block for sometime. Management just replaced the kitchen sink and the garbage disposal last month, which was cool! There is only two washers and dryers in my building. It gets annoying sometimes when you go over to the washer, only to find out its occupied. The washer and dryer do have a clock, so you can time it right and be the next to wash and dry. The management staff has been great, no complains about that.
The only complaint that I do have, is the walls are so thin, I can hear my neighbor downstairs yawning. The windows and the sliding glass door are not made of insulated glass, so the sounds from the outside can be heard. Door slamming is a no, no. One can hear the doors being slammed all over the building. My apartment overlooks the parking lot, so when a booming system drives by, the bedroom windows and the walls vibrate along with the beat. Oh well, life isn't perfect and so is Carlmont Woods.
The whole apartment package isn't perfect. If you're a college student, single, married with no kids, don't know what to do with your life and you need a reasonable priced place to stay, this is the place for you. Remember, if you see a light at the end of the tunnel, your stay here in Carlmont Woods isn't forever.
