Not as good as it used to be

I've been here for 9 years, and now I'm leaving. It's not a bad place- just not as good as it used to be. The rent is guaranteed to go up each year. Sometimes this might be as much as $150 in one year! And then you have to pay a company to bill you for utilities. This is through a 3rd party. When I first moved in, cable was free (!), utilities were included, rent was cheap, and the staff was super-nice. Well, now they charge for everything (and those prices keep going up and up), and the nice staff workers quit after the new management took over a few years back.
The apartment itself is okay. It's old and the walls are paper thin, but I'm not that picky. The location more than makes up for all of that, although it has gotten a bit noisier lately since they built the townhomes across the street. Seems like everyone these days is going through a midlife crisis and buying a Harley or putting loud exhaust pipes on their kiddie carriers. I really will miss it here, but here are cheapers places right around the corner and I'm a bit put off by the fact that they raised the rent so much.
