Yes, there have been some changes in the decor of the hallways, stairwells and elevators- but residents are paying a STEEP price for it. I realize there is no rent control in San Mateo county, but I was horrified when my lease ended and I was told if I decided to stay, my rent would be going up by over 12%. For the commute to literally anywhere, it's not worth the price. I had one of the smaller apartments, and the amount they are showing it on craigslist is astronomical. There were problems with ants, hot water, lights in the stairwells, and noise. I never had any repairs done there, but I can only imagine what kind of mess would be made in my apartment based on what the construction guys left around. In addition, when my new landlord tried to contact the office for a reference, they never received a return call. I also still have not yet received my deposit after a month. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

As a person moving in from out of state I have been looking all over the bay area for apartments and EVERY property people complain about 10-12% increases. Sounds like market forces are forcing rents up, just like in the stock and housing markets. Have you seen home prices in this area!!! All 'average' wage earners are forced to rent, and people moving to the area like me are forcing rents to go up. So sorry but I'm sick of having snow in April so I'm coming. Sorry for picking on this review but after a couple hours its gotten annoying.
