Heres my review:
1. Its old and smelly. This building was built a long time ago so the air smells of mold and the floors and ceilings are creaky. So if you dont mind the smell, great. But if you mind hearing the floors creak from your neighbors above you, then its a problem.
2. Parking. Unless you have a numbered spot under the main garage, your ok. But if you live with someone and you have an unsheltered numbered parking spot, forget about it. There have been numorous times when I came home late after work and someone parked their car in my spot. So I was forced to park in the street. Ive complained to the manager, but they didnt do anything about it. I've counted more than 15 times where I left "Do Not Park Here" notes on the windshields of parking predators in less than a year.
3. Noise Level = Extremely high. I lived in an apartment facing out towards El Camino. The windows are single pane so the noise comes right through (as well as the cold). The apartment complex sits right above a commercial area (always hearing car alarms go off), a busy intersection (always hearing car races), and caltrains (the sound of the choo choo isnt funny anymore after a couple days). I suggest investing in ear plugs if your going to live here.
4. Service - Being that I lived with a roomate, the rent didnt affect me so bad. But the management is REALLY chaotic. The one and only time I didnt pay my rent on time (because of my roomate was out of town and forgot to leave his share of the rent), the management charged me late fees that didnt exist on the leasing contract (rental agreement). When I showed them the contract and the correct late fee, the management backed down. So definately keep a copy of your rental agreement so if this situation happens to you, you'll know what to do. On top of that, when I moved out, the management tried to accuse me that I left this random couch in the hallway and that they would take it out of my deposit if I didnt get rid of it. It wasnt my couch, but because they saw me moving out at around the same time they found the random couch, they tried to point their fingers on me. Luckily I got my deposit back, but I think the management needs to retake the "How to be a legal and diplomatic manager" class again.
I hope this review gave you more insight to this apartment complex. The ONLY positive thing about this place is that it has an elevator....a very, very, very slow one.
