Pro's:
Location is great. Nice weather.

Two pools, BBQ area, and a fitness center (small but at least it's something).

Con's:
Paying WAY to much for an old building with so few amenities. What's even worse is to see a unit for $400 less in craigslist IN OUR OWN COMPLEX, but they won't lower our rent! The best they can do is not raise it when our lease is up... what bs.

Even though the appliances were all new when we moved in, they are all the bottom-of-the-line cheapest appliances you can buy. The dishwasher fits maybe 4 dishes and a pan, if you load it right.

Noisy - EVERY Tuesday morning the leaf blower guy wakes me up. Why can't they put a muffler on those leaf blowers like they do in the nicer complexes'
There is a truck with an overly sensitive car alarm that's parked next to a really loud car with no muffler. Every time the car is turned on and drives away or comes back, the truck's alarm goes off. It would be comical if it wasn't so annoying..
And they do allow dogs so "barkey" gets to yap on the balcony all day... oh joy.

Even though Belmont is a smoke-free city, people here smoke, including the staff!

The garbage chute doesn't even fit a regular trash bag and the garbage room hasn't been cleaned once since we've been here in 2 years.

The lights keep going out. It's an older building so almost every day a light is out in our hall, or over the outdoor stairwells. I heard someone fall down those stairs when the light had been out for a couple of days... nasty!

If you have a unit by the stairs, don't plan to open your blinds to your own bedroom. People can see right in, not to mention you need to keep it locked for security purposes. Plus, every time someone stomps down those stairs it feels like a stampede of elephants are about to enter your bedroom! Eek!

So good luck if you choose to live here. At least you know what you're getting yourself into.
