This apartment complex is very nice. There are definitely some buildling flaws, though (e.g. crack in door, crazy sprinkler went off by itself, super sensitive smoke detector). The management is pretty responsive to requests and they're pretty nice about it.

Here comes the bad news. Parking, like at every place in Berkeley I suppose, is so expensive. When I lived there it was $150 per month for a spot. Even that the price, all the spots were taken, too. The security deposit is two times rent. We paid $2,000 (yea, $2,000!) for a two-bedroom, one bath apartment. The worst part is how they screw you over when you're trying to get your security deposit back. We basically scrubbed the place inside out and it was still not enough and they docked $500 from the security deposit. When I checked the receipt, I saw that they had charged us $20 for a lightbulb in the kitchen -- the lightbulb wasn't even out!

Unless you have tons and tons of money to spend, I don't recommend living here. There are plenty of other places, albeit a little farther away and not as new. The walk will do you and your pocketbook good.
