living here, want to move out - like everyone else

first of all, this place is overpriced. staying in a one-brm for 1600. and it's not even one-brm, more like a studio with a sliding door dividing the tiny kitchen from the tiny bedroom.
second, they claim the internet is t1, but when you share t1 line among 100 units with an avg of 3 ppl per unit - the result is slower than 56k.
third, they stress security and have a few cameras throughout the building. nonetheless bums find their way in all the time.
ppl were complaining about wanting to study in the solarium but most weekends the company who owns the building books events that take place there. management promised residents that they will stop renting out the room. but for SOME ODD REASON, events still take place up there.
management also decided they can earn some extra money by raising the prices for the laundry machines, considering the rent is already outrageous.
even though the outside may seem like a masterpiece, inside construction isn't all that great. you can see water pipes on the ceiling and hear neighbors easily.
on the other hand, some positive aspects -
convenient location: bart, walgreens, campus
fairly new building, new setup
unit well furnished including one desk and bedframes
study room, solarium, is also very convenient
great view of oakland and sf from roof
new, fast elevator
2 washer/dryer on every floor
