The apartment may look good and new but be warned, the management is not above using sly tactics to get as much out of people as possible. The rent is very high as it is but in addition, the management directly LIED to us. We were told multiple times that there would be no fee for leaving the apartment early. Then comes a FAT $4000 fee that they promised would not come. Seriously, the apartment complex is offering $$$ to current residents to bring in more people, they're bribing their own customers to get more people to come. Don't fall for the tactics, don't live here. You'll regret it 100%.

Plus for this place?: Close to transit and the Y and the Library. Certainly not the Gourmet and night spot that you expect in a downtown area of this size. All rooms have sprinklers and fire alarms and boxes for your mail in the basement. Bldg. has elevators. Some on site staff try to be real professional and do seem to care but they are only staff. New apartments?... yes. Overpriced? Yes! Refrigerators are the cheapest that one can buy at Best Buy. Consider this: A Nine page lease. There is minimal rent control and apts. are slated for future condo conversion (date unknown depends on city politics?) One Bedrooms are actually Junior One bedrooms. (And 2 Bedrooms just add another room to this description.) Each apt. has a nice size Kitchenette and it is well designed and is seperated by half a wall that is topped by what is called a breakfast bar(?) and then you have your parlor. One large bedroom closet nothing extraordinary about it. And a coat closet where your cable box is. Windows have screens. Gets Hot & no A/C. I had a breakfast bar in another former apartment bldg. and it was a true breakfast bar not seperating your living room from your sink and dishwasher. And the Noise level ? during the academic year all hours. Quiet on holidays when students are gone. Building echoes with sound when there is lots of activity. Rents are higher than most in the area. Required to pay extra for water and heating water fee ---in addition to PG&E, cable, renters insurance is required etc. etc. Parking $115 a month. Washing Machines and Dryers could be better. 5 Buildings-- close together everything echoed from slamming doors to rowdy students or people outside your window on cell phone 1 in the a.m. Some real nice older folks in the bldg. but a rare find. Luxury? No way.
