04/28/14 by Verified Resident: It is being a great experience so far and I have been living here for more than 2 years. I don't have any complain and I would recommend it to anyone. Both the amenities and the staff make life in the community very enjoyable. And the location is perfect. more

11/29/13 by Verified Resident: Community is very quiet, clean, and feels very safe, especially with the addition of overnight security. Maintenance requests are handled within 3 days if problems do arise in your apartment (which they usually don't minus replacing a fire alarm battery or a lightbulb), however this means that you may be inconvenienced for up to 3 full days if your maintenance request isn't deemed an emergency. more

04/28/14 by Verified Resident: It's great! The building is secure and the office staff are amazing! The building is close to everything including public transportation. The office and maintenance staff get problems taken care of in a timely manner. Overall, I would recommend this apartment housing to people. more

03/31/11 by anonymous: I have just moved in here and I love the place. It's nothing special but it's management is cool and the place is gated ,clean and quiet. They attend to maintenance issues right away. The location is perfect and the pricing is very fair for the high priced UC Berkeley area. I 100% recomend it to anyone going to CAL. more

06/15/10 by anonymous: I seriously dont know what these people are talking about, but I've lived in the Gaia Building for the last two years and think its the best thats out there. After living in the dorms, I tediously searched on Craigslist for an apartment with my floormates and thought I found some decent hits on durant and piedmont (southside of campus). Unfortunately, EVERYTHING we saw was more

09/07/11 by anonymous: seriously don't live here. I thought because the building was newer and it was close to campus/BART it would be worth the high rent... It definitely isn't!! I'm very unhappy living here for many reasons: 1) We started our lease during summer so we had to take over someone's old lease. When we got the apartment it was filthy. I didn't even want to take a shower because i felt more

05/24/12 by ryoanji: I knew what I would get in this place when I was moving in. Cardboard-sized tiny, quite dirty, can we loud as walls are paper thin. I knew... but for $400 I thought it would be Ok. And it was for about nine month, until they got me a new roommate. That guy was absolutely crazy, a Korean youngster, he would not sleep until 6am in the morning. 12 am - 5 am you have more

10/09/09 by anonymous: Moving in was a pain, I live on the second floor. And the elevator does really only go to the first floor. Inconvienant but I dont plan to move for a while so well worth it. I came from an apartment that had a laundry facility and the washer/dryer in the unit has changed my life! Aslo, it is very inconvienant that management is only in a few days a week. I was unaware of what days the more

04/27/13 by anonymous: For the cost of the apartment it is not worth it, rent is about the same to other places in the area and you really get nothing for it. Although rent increases are within the city's 'rent control' rules expect your base rent to increase $200-$300 dollars every time your lease expires. Also you are given the option to renew about 3-6 months before your current lease expires, more

06/30/11 by anonymous: Moving in was easy. (My only complaint was that we weren't told that the building right next to us was going to be torn down, and construction would be taking place. The noise definitely woke me up every morning at 6am.) The staff seemed really nice and helpful, but when it came to moving out, that was a different story. My roommates and I wanted to move out earlier than what was more
