Just plain no

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2003

I lived at Birchwood Village from late 1999 through November of 2003. I was so happy to leave! It wasn't too bad when we first moved in but less than a year in things started going really wrong. We asked to have our dishwasher repaired at least three times as it would leak dirty dishwater all over the floor. The management's solution' Use Cascade. Not kidding, that was their response. Our disposal periodically created quite a dirty mess in our downstair neighbor's apartment on three different occasions -felt sorry for them. Again, a brilliant solution from the management - don't use your garbage disposal. But I still have to pay for it right' The tennis courts were inexplicably locked all the time and upon asking management how we were supposed to use them we were told that you had to put in an extra deposit to get a key to the courts. This was never mentioned in advertising or on move-in day. But the worst was when they allowed the scummiest family I have ever witnessed move into our building. The teenage daughter and her friends would have loud parties and fights on the sidewalk, during which they were quite liberal with their usage of expletives, and eventually she began having an affair with a married man in our building and eventually the whole gang started using and dealing drugs from this building. Lovely family atmosphere! After one evening of drug-induced mania I was greeted with a sidewalk drawing of male and female genitalia with accompanying poetry, oh, and vomit on the hood of my car. Management response' Nothing. I will give them credit for eventually evicting the scummy family, but not until after several visits by the police culminating in a drug raid and not feeling safe AT ALL for several months there. To have to pay this amount of money in rent you should be getting a working dishwasher/disposal and neighbors who aren't drug dealers. On the bright side the grass was always green and the landscaping quite tidy.
