"Buyer Beware of Trojan Horses"

I never thought that I would be writing a negative review about an apartment complex. Previously I moved from a beautiful awesome place by South Coast Plaza to Birchwood Village. At the time that I moved in the staff was very pleasant and friendly.

Before I start on the negative allow me to tell you that maintenance in the past has been very helpful and answered any problems right away. I have not used them in quite a while so I am supposing that this is still the same. Secondly, Brea is considered a very safe to live but the assigned parking might leave you a little frustrated when you come home and find someone has taken your spot.

The history in my one and a half year tenure. Recently (July 2006), the entire office has been replaced with new employees with everyone quitting for whatever reason''' As with the office help being replaced so was my job recently (but I have now secured quite a good one). I tried telling Lourdes one of the lease consultants the situation and even put a yellow sticky note on the check with the date post dated. I begged her to not put this in until a couple of weeks when the money comes in. I even paid the extra 50 dollars for being late. Despite the yellow sticky note and the post dated check they went ahead and deposited it anyway. Then the bank went ahead and paid it. Fortunately for me I had secured a loan from a friend in anticipation of a high probability that this might happen from such an incompetent and deceitful management group. Read more and you will understand my point that this management team shows a callous disregard for any possible overdraft fees and bounced checks their tenants might incur much less any loyalty and respect to any of their tenants situation. This is especially unnerving when this is not the first time they have done something like this and then they don't want to refund the late fee if the check clears. I cannot tell you how many people cannot stand living here. You only have to the third to pay your rent here and recently one of the staff's named Adrian was posting out evicition notices to everyone on the third of this month November 2006 around 3:30 in the afternoon while the tenants still had time to make their payments. The fact of the matter is this apartment complex will not help their tenants and shows no empathy other than a ton of letters about evicting you if you are late a day on anything. hmmm no wonder the turn around here is so phenomenal. Personally, I would go even further to suggest that maybe Western National Group (Property Management Owners) only knows to hire people that could get them in a potential lawsuit at Birchwood Village in Brea, Ca. There is also renters insurance here of 18 dollars monthly and if for some reason your card has expired and you lapse coverage again an immediate evicition notice and demand to pay a $600 dollar fee will be posted on your door faced up for all to see. Finally you have to pay your own water bill which is actually Western National company again. This place is intent on making money and frigtening their tenants and recently lost a ton of their customers in September 2006 because when peoples leases expired they raised their rent by more than $180 dollars an apartment.

Personally I cannot wait till my lease expires.

Western National. I on behalf of a great many "current" residents beseach you to look more into your managment team and their unethical behavior here. Perhaps if you were to be a little more involved you can move this complex in a more positive direction. As for me I must confess I am thoroughly disgusted and will not recommend any of your propertys from the actions of your current management team.

Please people, if you are like me and normally disregard people giving advises and questioning motives please know that mine are truly sincere. I am not trying to give false information but I wish someone would have posted this before I moved in with all the smiles and deception. Previously I lived at Versailles on the Lakes by South Coast Plaza. The manager there was named Phil and he and his staff were just incredible. The grounds had a beautiful lake and was always prestine and immaculate.

Good Luck to all and I hope this helps you. At the very least I know in good conscience that I was honest and maybe saved someone else from an unhappy living situation.

God Bless.
