4 months ago I referred 2 renters for this complex. I was supposed to get a referral bonus of 300 dollars for each one in 8 to 10 weeks from the move in dates. I watched the management staff enter the supposed bonus info into the computer at the time. It has been 4 full months. I enquired 2 times. The first response was that it takes awhile for the main management company to get to it. The second inquiry was put to the new staff in the office (they change staff like a fast food place). They said they were unaware of there being any bonus offers for referrals EVER but they would look into it.
They suck. They are liars. The quality of life here is crap. The driers don't dry unless you run them twice. I see people constantly packing up and leaving....happy to get out.
Based on previous revues there is definitely something wrong here.
Incompetent management ??? Hiding something??? Part of something like a big fat scam to get you to sign a lease???
The lying game is the last straw liars.
Next to freeway with no sound wall, loud at night, paper thin walls. Drunk teenagers hanging out at night. Bad lighting for car parking. Police always showing up to handle some out of control situation, days and night. New rules for the patio spaces: you can have nothing on them except patio furniture only. no bicycles, BBQ grill, boxes, nothing else. If they see anything else they threaten to remove it for you. The patios are open on the sides with no gates. nails in the street constantly left by the construction going on. tales of car gasoline siphoning. They just spent a wad to fix up the entrance signs but won't upgrade the washer/dryers or at least get more of them. People seem to be ski-dish of the gang members. If you don't bother them: they won't bother you, mostly. Oh, general unwritten rule: don't park in any spaces that have the graffiti on the parking curb cause that is their space at night.
They should outsource the management to India and at least save some money there.
They already got my referral money. LIARS.

Wow, a little bitter about not getting that whopping $600 I see. Well, the staff in the office is NOT forever changing because I wanted to rent last year and there really was nothing available at the time (showing that it is a very popular complex) and the leasing agent that helped me Lourdes was so great and sympathetic with me. The other leasing agents, Adrian and Fawn are there as well, so I don't really know what the other person's post was nagging about having new office staff all of the time. I think that if I would have been approached by a tenant with perhaps the attitude that this last person who posted probably had, I wouldn't have given them a dime either. Get over it, or move out, cause I live there, love it, and don't want to have nasty neighbors that have nothing better to do than trash people or places and try to make an easy buck. Birchwood Village is HOME, and BREA ROCKS!
