Maplewood Apartments

It was very nice....but a bit pricey for an apartment of it's size.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
My wife and I recently moved out and, although we enjoyed our stay at Maplewood while we were there, there were several things that we did not enjoy.
Firstly...having a one-bedroom 700 square ft apartment with 2 people means that you are practically living in each other's pocket (which can be very annoying and claustrophobic!).
The "new" vanity unit counter top that we were promised turned out to just be re-painted, and anything that was actually placed onto the unit (ie - mouthwash) seemed to stain the surface.
The sliding glass door leading to the small patio area never locked properly and was actually put on inside out when the apartments were built.
The bedroom got unbearably hot during the summer months...and we actually had to have a large fan in there in order to keep cool at night.
The neighbors directly opposite and above us seemed to be incapable of actually closing their door without slamming it (which, to be fair, was the ONLY noise in an otherwise very quiet community).
Other than that, we had no complaints...but the price tag of $1,225 per month was a bit steep for the size of apartment that you actually get (although I suspect that this is due more to location than anything else). Our rent was going to be up to $1,340 a month had we chosen to renew our lease, so we decided to move on.
