This is the TRUTH about Monterray Pines

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002

When I initially became interested in the complex I was drawn by the one story units, off street parking for the front units (which is very convenient) and the incredible landscaping that looked and smelled wonderful.

However, I was quickly greeted by a overzealous and flirtatious male manager named PAT.

Despite his fowl, eager attempts at anything happening I still endured hours of stories regarding his ex-wife and how she abandonded him, and what a great guy he was...

I only wanted an apartment.

Nevertheless, once I moved in and my fiance arrived he bacame vicious and rude.

He had dated my application for the date I became interested and not the date I moved in requiring 3 weeks of rent money for which I did not occupy the apartment.

I had signed a leased we filled out together with correct dates then he said OK and I need this one to send to the owner just sign it and I will fill it in later.

He destroyed the correct one and used the bland one with dates that obligated me to more money.

NEVER sign a blance lease or document with him! He is the most ridiculus thief I ever met.

I did pay the money because my belongings were already on a U-Haul to Cali, so I just wanted a place to live.

He was nosey and deceitful in every possible way.

I once took him a jar of tiny white worm looking things that were falling from our living room ceiling onto us for several months hiding in in the popcorn ceiling , and he rolled his eyes and did nothing.

My garbage disposal was broken for over a month, and the oven stopped working he had every excuse for not repairing it.

When I contacted an attorney regarding the repairs he said an oven is requied and a % of rent can legally be withheld there I kept the percentage eqating to the 4 months the oven did not work.

On I withheld $400 in rent he finally repaired it, DEMANDING I pay him the other $400.

I refused and let him know I was entitled to the money due to his neglagence.

He then kept my entire deposit when I moved out despite leaving the unit cleaner than when I moved in (which is illigel to withhold rent monies fron a deposit- He is just a ignorant thief.

We tried to contact the owner regarding the deposit and he said we were waisting his cell phones minutes and hung up.

$1100.00 is a lot of money for someone to just "keep." We did indeed hear our neighbors having sex, talks, bathroom etc.

I regrouted the kitchen counter myself because the manager refused to do it.

I agree the complex has potential, and if you are willing to make repairs yourself, have to whisper, wait for washer, put up with a horrible manager then you might like it.

He has been like this for over 6 years at least; please do not think it will change unless you are willing to flirt with him- you are in for the same treatment.

He is a HORRIBLE manager, and I still want my money back you thief!
