The review starting with "I began looking for apratments in June," had to be written by one of the employees, it is so far from the truth, please read below

Raintree is horrible! These apartments are not only very overpriced but they're not in the best of condition. This complex is so very deceiving; I will start with how old the buildings are; the units are infested with cochroaches. The walls are paper-thin and the paint will ware very quickly; the appliances are old; the cabinets creek every time you open them. The water pressure here is horrible and the faucets filters constantly have to be replaced due to the water clarity. The air conditioning units are old and only cool a very small area in the living room. The carpets are so cheap they will look filthy and worn in a short period and it does not matter how often you steam clean or vacuum. The whole apartment will look warn and old after a few months of living in it.

There is a good chance your vehicle will be stolen, once a week a vehicle is either broken into or stolen. There are too many people living in one-bedroom apartments, lots of drug use and drug dealing.

Most importantly, your rent will increase as soon as you renew your lease. The apartments are so over priced for what you get. You can obtain a much better living environment elsewhere for what you will pay here. Management will not explain that they only have so many 6-month leases available and if you lease month to month your rent will increase almost $350 a month and management will have an attitude that they are doing you a favor for allowing you to rent here. You are limited to one cable company, Direct TV, you will also pay a fee to another company that services the satellite for the complex, and this runs about $38.00 a month on top of what you pay to the cable company. You will pay a utility and water fee every month based on the amount of people living in the unit which is an additional $40. The laundry facility is a ripp off too, you have a card that you have to use and the machines will eat up almost $2 to $3 dollars every time you use the facility.

The management has the most apathetic attitude, you are just a number. Most people lease here for a very short period of time, therefore, management's attitude is there will be someone else renting right behind you. They are not interested in longevity leasing. A two bedroom could end up costing you almost $1800 if you get stuck here.

Please do not let this place deceive you, stay away from this complex. DONT MOVE IN PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!

THESTATEMENT BELOW IS NOT TRUE, IT HAD TO BE WRITTEN BY AN EMPLOYEE

I began looking for apartments in June. I printed 50 complexes off the Internet and saw about 20 of them before I hit Raintree. I almost didn't stop to see it because the rent sounded too reasonable for Brea - but I did.

I was pleasantly surprised. The square footage for 2 bed/2 bath is 1,000 sq. ft. How often does that happen in the LA/Orange County area' We loved the layout of the apartment and the large rooms (second bedroom only inches smaller than first, same sized walk-in closets!)

There was new carpeting and a/c. If I'm here for 2 years, I get new carpeting. If here for 5 years, I get a new a/c. Where do you find that in a lot of places'

My experience with maintenance has been excellent. Patio was lifted up 3 inches from tree roots. Told rental agent: that day, maintenance mgr. looked it over. 2 days later, corporate guy came to look, and in 2 days there were 2 bids. All in all, it took less than a month to get rid of the old concrete and get a new patio.

Also, there were stains on the guest bathroom floor, and the linoleum was replaced 3 days later. When I ask for a maintenance fix, the men are either at our place that day or the day after!

The grounds are not only lovely, but they are constantly being maintained by the garden crew. They recently put down new driveways (everywhere) and painted the buildings.

The guest parking is a problem. You are allowed one space under the carport for $10/month (it's actually included in your rent) so if you have a second car, you have a problem finding guest parking. If you want a garage, you pay $50/month, but most of the time, they only rent the double garage to one tenant, who then has the rest of the garage for storage space.

Someone said their car was scratched a few days after they moved in; that's not the fault of anyone but the person who parks next to you! The people working for the management company are pleasant and easy to deal with - if you come in with a chip on your shoulder, you can't expect them to bend over backwards for you!

And the location can't be beat: you're one street away from Brea Blvd that goes into "down town" Brea and near the 5 star mall, P.O., civic center, etc. And a few blocks away from Hgwy 57, which is a main artery to many other hgwys.

Keep looking if you want to, but trust me: I've been living in apartments all my life, and this place is far superior to 95% of them.

And don't forget, this complex is 27 years old. Constant maintenance and well-constructed apartments keep it looking fresh and new. But you could have problems if something is the original. I've never had a problem with getting things replaced, including the dishwasher.

I have lived here for over a year now and have never ever seen one single cockroach. This person must have had a filthy apartment or his/her neighbor did. I have never heard of any one's car being stolen or broken in to and I know a lot of people here. Also, our carpet has remained very clean since we moved in. Maybe this person was just a dirty person. We are moving out this spring but ONLY because we want a washer and dryer. This is a nice place to live.
