do NOT rent here

We have lived here for over half a year now, and I have to say I am not impressed. The Apartments manager is a nice lady, but does not know how to handle herself. We were told false statements that swayed us to move here. We were told the parking would be gated, a fitness center would be added, bbqs, but none of this has happened. I was promised this is a safe area, when it is not. We are not from around here so by first glance at the area we almost left instantly. THIS IS THE GHETTO. We have drug deals in our parkinglot, infront of children, we hear gunshots in the distance, we hear neighbors yelling. The other renters pack multiple families in one small 2 bdrm aparment, we come home to a bunch of children running around with no supervision. The pool is ALWAYS full, of people who do not even live here, the laundry room is disgusting, and neighbors are rude, and will fill each washer, and will not return to change their laundry for hours. It is not a good atmosphere for children, and everyone basically fends for themselves around here. Hardly anyone is friendly. Parking is another story. There are 2 bedrooms apartments offered here, but only one parking spot' When we moved in there was no assigned parking which was ok, but once it was assigned things got of of hand. I have nowhere that I am allowed to park, because my only other option then "taking someones spot" is to park in the visitors parking after 5. By the time I get home from work, Every spot is filled in the visitors spaces, only because the people who rent the apartments directly in front of those spaces, take them for themselves. When I pull into the lot and there are multiple spaces that are empty (not visitor parking), that I never see anyone park in, of course it would be nice to be offered one of those spaces untill it is rented. There are two parking lots for this complex. Naturally the manager parks in the other lot, where only her building is assigned to park there. When I drive by it has plenty of spots available, I absolutely refuse to park my vehicle on the VIllage Dr. It's bad enough that I feel threatened walking to my apartment at night as it is, but having to walk further, and leaving my car on the street where we see people making drug deals, and sitting in their yards all day getting drunk' Oh yea real comfortable. For what we pay I expected so much better. We had planned to live here for years, at least 2, but we are counting down the days to the end of our lease. We are already looking at other places for rent. I am not writing this review out of anger or spite, but because I don't want anyone else to be mislead the way that I was, and have to deal with all the --------.
