my husband and i have been living here for a 2 years but it's time to look for a new apartment. we thought so too in the beginning that the new owners will perhaps bring some new good things to the complex. but it went all down hill from there. now, the renters have to pay for gas, water and trash (and that is about $80 more per month). initially, my husband and i did not mind that because we like it here. however, another policy have changed. with the one bedroom apartment, we used to have 2 assigned parking spaces, now we are assigned only one and therefore, my husband has to look for parking on the street.
When we opted to live here 2 years ago, parking was and still is the second most important factor in our decision ...a gated parking lot with assigned spaces. now, that is being taken away from us.
oh, and one more thing. the AUM billing company that the owners use for the renters to pay the utilities (gas, H2O and trash) also charge, would you believe $5 to pay online. it's so ridiculous... come to think of it, when you pay you other bills like electricity, cable, mobile phone,etc online---it's free of charge.
what i'm trying to convey is... the new owners somehow everywhich way they turn they are in it only for profit.there is nothing wrong about making a profit,only if it's done with fairness for the renters. the new owners (NNC) just think about themselves. they have to put themselves in our position and see what they will feel like if all of the amenities are drastically being stripped off from them. I know by law they can make all these changes and remove all the amenities if they want to. even the fair housing agency supports it. however, this is a matter of honoring what is good for supposedly the renters and if the new owners have a conscience and strong belief of justice they will think twice about their decisions.
ok, people i have to abort my review now or else i may be inclined to use nasty words if i continue. you all go figure.
