My wife and I lived at Avalon (Lakeside) for 6 months and it was the worst apartment we've ever been in. We had extreme cockroach problems, broken water fixtures, the kitchen faucet actually fell off, a very slow draining tub, broken crank windows, and a pitiful box AC unit. Nothing ever got fixed! What kind of "luxury" apartment living doesn't have central air' We put up with all of these problems and the "renovation" work for six months and, at the end of the lease, we were told that our rent was being raised by $300/month. One staff member told us they wanted to transition to "a certain clientele" after the renovation. Obviously, they were referring to people who don't mind paying ridiculously high rents for crappy apartments. This place looks nice on the outside but is an absolute wreck of a place to live in! The staff is overwhelmed and unhelpful, and the good reviews on this page were obviously provided by Avalon staff or prefrontal lobotamy patients. In summary, there are so many better place to live in the area. Don't be fooled by the new exterior and great location because you will regret signing that lease.
