There are exactly two good things about this complex: it's in a good location, in a nice neighborhood, a short walk from a supermarket/drug store/Starbucks/etc., and near the Media Center area of Burbank; also, the apartments have copious amounts of closet and storage space (at least in one-bedroom and larger units).
That said, some of the bad things...Noise is a definite problem. The walls are very thin. If you're lucky, your neighbors will be quiet, and you'll only hear their toilet flushing and their garbage disposal. If you're unlucky, like I was, your neighbors will have loud voices and will like to have the radio on loud enough to hear over the shower at 5:30 in the morning. And if you're extra unlucky, you'll get that PLUS end up in one of the buildings backing up on the freeway.
The cable TV system is operated by a private company, and has many fewer channels available than the actual city of Burbank cable system, at only a slightly cheaper cost. (To their credit, the current operator is slightly better than the company that served the complex for the first nine months I was living there...at the very least, I was never on hold with the current operator for 45 minutes.) For most apartments in the complex, a satellite dish isn't an option because there are no private balconies to set up the dish on, and most apartments face the wrong direction anyway.
Although the office staff is friendly enough, they're not too good at solving problems; someone else's car was left in my reserved parking spot for two weeks, and their entire response was to post a semi-sternly worded note on the wall in front of the car. Oh, they also suggested a different parking spot for me to use temporarily, but they didn't seem to be 100% sure of which spaces were assigned to which apartments, so someone was in the spot they suggested.
There is no central air conditioning, and many of the apartments don't have dishwashers, which are both pretty much standard features for apartments in this price range in the Los Angeles area.
One more note: the buildings were renovated after I moved out, although from what I can tell by driving by, the renovations were not very extensive, so I believe much of the above information still applies. (Not much seems to have changed except the exterior paint...and the name on the sign out front, of course. Incidentally, if I'd renewed my lease, my rent would have gone up by over 12%, and I would have had to move within six months to make way for the renovations anyway.)
Oh, and one more thing, if you sign a lease here anyway, expect to find out at the last minute that you're going to end up in a different apartment in a different building than the one you thought you were going to be moving into. Wait as long as possible before sending out your change-of-address cards.
