So...The Oaks. I hear it used to be a great place to live. I would say right now, it's an OK place to live. Borderline. There are many problems here, no way around it. Some common areas have been updated--painted walls, carpet, etc. But outside of the first floor, the non-carpet areas look just awful. Why paint only the first floor floor' Makes no sense. The W/D situation is not too bad. They seem to work much better than reviews in the past have said. The gym is OK, the spas are OK. Management is OK...but not all that. I would think that a community in Burbank, especially in this unique, fantastic neighborhood, would screen their renters in a better way. But...sadly, there is a weird mix here. You have your obviously industry group mixed in with the why-on-earth-how-could-they-be-here group. It seems people are here one month, have notices on their doors two months later from all sorts of collectors and then gone.
Would I recommend living here' I hate to say it, but no. Could I recommend living here' Absolutely. But probably with a change in the way things are run. It's just not what I expected, that's for sure.
Summary: seriously great location. Lackluster building. Can they fix it' Who knows. Will I stick around to find out' Gosh, I really don't know.
