Royal Equestrian Apartments

Still a bad choice From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/26/2007 Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2003   I lived at Royal Equestrian twice during a three year period. The property changed during my stays and went from substandard to generally livable conditions. That's the only good part. 2000-2003 What I experienced during 2003 where jackhammers at 8am in the morning, complete door removals of all units, the gutting of vacant apartments with disregard to adjacent tenants, flooding of the tiny workout room that grew mold, an refusal to remove fixtures (shower-heads) because they had intentionally written a clause on the lease to avoid doing so (I still have a copy of my lease that clearly states it, I'm not joking). I overheard an old management meeting, which stressed giving residents the mandatory 24hour notice of construction, because residents would become even more irate if given more information. To placate residents they offered a dozen donuts and warm coffee every morning in the lobby. 2007 - I visited and the construction has subsided. The new management is cold, but professional. The place looks better with good appliances, but while I was visiting for two hours I heard; Dogs barking endlessly; children screaming by the pool; a woman cooking dinner (yes some apartments are right off the street / guest parking area with a flimsy window protecting you); the gym was closed; lack of guest parking; non-secured parking because the gate was broken; non-secured front entry because I was able to get in and out without a key six times. Overall the grounds have improved, but the amount you will spend 1300-1800 per month, adding all their fees, isn't worth it.
