Where do I begin' I moved here 3 years ago to building that had great amenities, a sense of community, kind staff, a dream come true. We've had 3 or 4 different owners in that time. The current one is a coporation which we were very happy with at first but they moved out their temporary/transitional staff and hired a bunch of little girls who don't know their jobs. They forget to to put up notices when doing maintenance like the time they changed the locks on my apartment because they wanted a "prettier knob" but they didn't inform me. Then when I went to the office to complain that I couldn't get in my apartment they copped an attitude and only then produced a notice which did not have my apartment number listed. Oh, there's the time the girls were trying to show corporate that they'd brought in more money that month by charging 6 months to a year of back rent to everyone in the building who didn't have a current lease.

Of course then there's the time they were fixing the pipes and caused an explosion in some of the apartments. I filled out their insurance forms since they destroyed my personal property, then I checked to make sure they'd filed the paperwork with their insurance company of which they assured me they had. And then oops no, they forgot. Yes, I should sue but do I really want the hassle any more'

After a year's worth of promises they finally hired a security guard for the parking structure. They had to do this because kids like to "break-in" to the "secured building" and break the windows of the parked cars. The building might be more secure if the management bothered to fix the gates to the parking garage or if the little girls in the management office would stop using bricks/rocks to hold open the front doors all day. Or if they stopped letting the construction crews use resident parking. Oh that's another thing, as soon as you leave your assigned parking spot in the morning one of the employees in the building will take your spot and then scream at you if you get upset that someone is in your spot. To say they're not professional around here is the understatement of the year.

You will run into construction crews here. The building has been under construction 6 days a week for the past year... Since JPI bought it actually. This makes it very noisey starting around 7 am and lasting all day. Oh and the business next door is also under construction and they work until 10 pm, thank you City of Burbank for violating its own permit law. You can call the cops with a noise complaint about the consturction or the illegal basketball court but they'll just tell you to suck it up because you live in an apartment and really why would you want to sleep at 10 pm or even 1 am.

There really aren't an "grounds" there is a grassy area outside where the former management had to put waste bins because it was getting covered in doggie doo-doo. There's a swimming pool and hot tub people use all the time without regard to those who live around it. I've had to go out on my porch at 4 in the morning to ask people to quiet down. There was gym with a sauna but that's now under construction for who knows how long.

Oh, as for the cockroach problem. It includes silverfish too mind you. It was started by a resident who had been holed up in her apartment for 27 years and only left after the health department had her removed.

The rent here... is a joke. It is astronomical especially considering what you have to put up with.

I have put in 3 maintenance requests with the current management alone regarding a large crack in my tub and they've never once come to look at it, made an appointment, etc. At this point I'm just waiting for the tub to fall into the apartment below me and even then, not sure that the little girls in the management would know what to do other than cop an attitude.

I will say this, the janitorial staff is lovely and very nice. That's really the only good thing about the building.
