I realize my comments are probably long outdated as I lived in a Studio apt. on the third floor of the main building for three year. It was lovely and my unit was well situated in that I had no one on either side of me and one unit behind me but only the kitchen wall was shared. Management sucked and the resident manager at the time was finally removed because he had been sexually harrassing the female tenants. I cannot imagine living in any building other than the main building if you live at The Arlington. The location is ideal and the building (at the time at least) was beautifully maintained. My unit was big for a studio, allowing me to even have a dining room. The older features of the unit were cute and unique -- steam radiator, phone niche, door casings, etc. I really loved living there but I finally bought a house. I'll bet my rent by comparison to today's rates was probably dirt cheap. Good luck -- if you can get in the main building and can handle lousy management then it might be worth a try.
