Everyone who wrote against this apartment is telling the truth. Living here was alright up until the new company bought this place although the previous management was not much better. At least the rent was bearable before but the new company raised the rent by about 35% and people vacated like there was no tomorrow. Now, they have so many vacancies that they are running specials and have actually decreased the rent on their website but do not get fooled by their scheme. Once you move in and settle in they will do whatever they want to do. Some tenants were already notified that there will be more rent increases and some will be paying more than the quoted website prices for their existing, untouched old place. I am in the same case right now. I will be paying more than the quoted price in a place where nothing has been touched since I moved here over 5 years ago. One might as well move to a vacant unit that's at least painted and touched up while saving some money. But, the company is counting on the fact that people do not want to go through all the trouble just to move to a new unit. All the construction they are doing is to make the outside look good but getting anything fixed in your own unit is hard. And, even when they do come to "fix" something, they never replace the broken parts with new parts but just touch the old part to make it work temporarily. In a couple of days things are in worse shape than before. On site laundry facility is absolute joke. There just aren't enough machines for the number of units and those machines are constantly out of order and they do not wash or dry well. To wash one small load of laundry and properly dry will cost you about $3.50 to $4. But, do remember that you have to pay for water and sewer every month which is divided by the number of units in the building which averages $100. And, now that they allow pets in the apartment (with extra rent), you often hear loud barking. Some dogs are way larger than specified size so if you are fearful of large dogs this is also a problem. I can go on and on with all the issues you should know before consider this place. But, most importantly, if you want to have a place where you can call it a home, a place where you can rest in peace, please think twice about moving to the Skyline Terrace Apartments.
