In the two years since Archstone took over the management of this complex, our rent has increased more than $400 -- and that's after we bitched and complained to have it lowered at each lease signing. They advertise raquetball courts on their website: Complete lie. Maintenance have been using the courts as storage for the past two years. When asked, the management says "they will be open again in a couple of months." Management installed water meters in all of the apartments and reduced the water pressure to that of spitting camels. They thought it would be fun to paint the complex last year.... and hired 3-year old fingerpainting artists to do the work. Come by this place and check out the sloppy paint job! It's a riot. You can see where they just painted over the doors without ever sanding them. You can see what happens when you don't mask off areas for painting and just splatter paint everywhere. Oh - and the white carports with the dalmation spots: that's not paint - it's TAR. The stupid management hired blacktoppers to come in and re-pave the parking lots LAST YEAR (come by - it don't LOOK paved recently ... that's because .. you guessed it: they paid top dollar for idiots to tar over the drives). Oh - they did this AT CHRISTMAS TIME. Closed half the lots in the complex AT CHRISTMAS. Towed cars from the lots with 2 DAYS NOTICE -- AT CHRISTMAS. LOL Wait. I live here. Crap. Not LOL.

Hey Happy Archy ... I only lived with Archstone managing this complex for 3 years. Prior to that, the management was FINE. No complaints until ARCHSTONE took over. Believe it or not, it takes about three years to save up for the down payment on a house. Get this: I bought a house in Oak Park (just minutes from Calabasas and its retarded smoking ban) and I'm now paying LESS FOR MY MORTGAGE on a 2100 sq ft home than I was paying at Archstone for 950 sqft.
HappyArchy is clearly some Archstone jack-a$$ sent here to clean up these comments. Note that he refutes NONE of the things mentioned in the post - just resorts to an attack on the poster.
