Residents are not happy about the parking situation as the person below suggested. The community manager is by far the worst person I've ever dealt with. Don't believe any of the positive reviews. I was told by an ex-Archstone Calabasas employee that they go on these sites and leave positive reviews for themselves. Avoid this complex at all costs. They nickel and dime you for every little thing. They'll run the bill up on you in move out fees as well. I have nothing positive to say about this complex other than that it is in a good area. I will never live in an Archstone community again after my experience with the community manager ---- -------! I'll let the numbers do the real talking though. Try an 11% increase in rent in one year, followed by an 18% increase in the next (while the housing market was going down). Their vacancy is high, so in an attempt to try and preserve their profit, they push their costs onto their current residents via rent increase. If you want a fair apartment at a fair price, look elsewhere!

Here is an excerpt from an article in today's daily news. Another example of what the housing market is doing in the Southern California area. It goes to show you that Archstone is not the only Property Management Company raising rents. They may be aggressive, but they are not alone. Sounds like someone needs to live in area that they can afford. "Occupancies are extremely high," said Conway. "Ninety-seven-percent of all apartments are occupied in L.A. County. That means only 3-percent are vacant." So with supply low and demand high, what happens next is going to cost you. "In some areas, rents have increased more than 20-to-30-percent in the last four years," said Conway. Much of this can be blamed on the changes in the housing market and the high rate of foreclosures. But it's not all about the negatives. "L.A. is still a very desirable place to live," said Conway. "A lot of young professionals are moving here to jumpstart their careers. Job growth has picked up in the last few years. Last year, L.A. County had 50,000 new jobs."

I am a pretty open minded person and like to look at both sides. We are moving from Colorado and use this site to look at potential apartment complexes. However, the juvenile responses from the (obvious) management is unbelievable. Renters seem not to like your complex. It seems that you would try to remedy this so that people post positive messages instead of attempting to discredit every opinion. This does not affect me however, because your management company has helped us to make a decision, and that is- not to rent from this facility. Management, Thanks for your help!
