Don't be fooled by the quiet Calabasas environment. This place is loud, people speed down the small roads throughout the complex. Difficulty parking and the new parking plan is stupid and completely does not make sense. Management is very difficult and disrespectful to tenants. Very loud, parties all the time, the cops are here constantly. Very expensive for what you get. Make sure you keep in mind that trash pick up, sewerage and water usage is not included and even if you pay for a 2 bdrm/2bath, you only have one parking space. If you want a second parking space, you must tack on some more money for that.

Oh, by the way, this place is VERY low class. For awhile, tenants were complaining of crystal meth users and possibly making it in a couple of buildings. People were reporting it smelled like a nail salon. Huge problems here. Management did nothing to appease the tenants. Instead they were disrespectful to the family tenants complaining of the possible problem.

My advice is that if you have children, you go elsewhere! Run, don't walk!

i have to agree that the managment at Archstone does nothing to correct any problems at this complex. they say they'll "look into it," but they will NEVER get back to you about what, if anything, was done. One time i even flat out asked them to call me back with a report on what was done about what i complained about, and they straight up TOLD ME that NO ONE would be calling me back. If i wanted to know what happened, i was told that i could call THEM back in a few days. then, when i did, i got passed around, and never did find out anything. avoid this place like the plague! also, i have to agree with other posters that all the "good" reviews on this site are obviusly posted by the managment.

I'm thinking of moving to the Woodland Hills/Calabasas area and was looking at this place. I gather it's a bad idea. Any suggestions?

Archstone Calabasas is great!! I have never had any problems here. The management treats me respectfully, and is always thoughtful of my opinion. (keep in my they have 600 units!!!) Also, their friendly. The landscaping is well maintained, and when I had something fixed in my apartment they were here within a half hour.

I agree with the fact that managment is terrible. I currently rent a one bedroom and I was supposed to get an affordable housing unit.I was told after going through all the paperwork hoops that I should start packing and to pay for the new apt which would be 350 less a month. 3 days before I am now supposed to move I have everything in boxes and only the amount of rent that I thought I should pay. I came home this evening to find a letter in the grass next to my apt. I picked it up still soaked from the rain and it read that due to not getting the paper work in on time that my new rent would now be 1890 a month and I am not eligible for the affordable housing any longer. I have a baby and I am on cash aid. If that does not qualify then what does? Oh, and thanks for throwing a letter at my door 3 days before the rent is due you cowards@@#### My advise is to go somewhere else and run fast

If you can't afford it, then I suggest moving to a city you CAN afford other than CALABASAS.
