I lived at Malibu Canyon for just under a year. The facilities were clean and as advertised. beware though of Clauses that punish you for vacating before the lease is due (3 months penalty). They will attempt to enforce such clauses until they are reminded that such clauses do not belong in apartment lease contracts in CA, according to California civil code. I have all the info if either this or another California landlord tries to rip you off. It is free. I expect nothing more than you pay it forward to another victim. If you want to look them up your self, look for liquidated damages laws in Clifornia.
