Beware of crazy tenants

As I moved into Malibu Canyon Apartments, I thought to myself "this was going to be a wonderful place to raise my family". I had lived here for three months, quiet and peacefully until one beautiful March afternoon I had decided to take my kids to the pool. At first it was a nice and relaxing day at the pool, until various "dramatic" neighbors started to show up. In an instant the vibe became so great so, that I had to leave. I didn't realize that there was so much drama going on with people that it was impossible to just lay out without being bombarded by stories of drama, and torture that was being done to choldren. My lease is up at the beginning of 2009 and I can tell you I will be leaving this month. This place has caused me and my children so much stress, that I had to make an executive decision to find a better place to live. The management has so much drama within themselves, that they refuse to help/protect tenants that are in need. In the last 2 weeks two key employees put in their resignation due to all the "drama" going on. That in itself should tell you to beware. Also, MCA has low income/HUD housing and you can tell with teh type of trash that lives here. Be smart, make sure you ask questions in regards of where and what section you'll be moving into, because if not, you'll be placed with people that should be living in Compton. I previosly lived at Archstone for eight years and it's no wonder that when I lived at Archstone I never knew where MCA was for a reason. It's a secluded place, but nothing short of an awful reality show/soap opera. Be very very very careful. You don't, I repeat you DON'T want to raise a family here. If you'd like more details please post a comment with your email address and I'd be more than happy to give you the real story behind this place.

Thanks so much for writing this review. I've lived here for 3 years and it's changed so much. Management has become so complicated they don't even know who's paid rent or not. I actually know somebody that hasn't paid their rent in 3 months and they haven't received one notice. It's not fair for us residents that pay full price and on time. Also, I'm very sorry about your situation. I could bet some money that I know who this resident is, but am afraid to use her name on here. Can you email me at bfrancis@trponline.com. I will be moving out at the end of my lease.

Wondering if you could let me know what sort of drama is taking place. I'm trying to move closer to work and this place is somewhat affordable. I can tolerate certain things, but not theft/vandalism/harassment... Please email me swoop711@yahoo.com
thx.

You are letting Pool Drama stress you out to where you have to move out of the apartment. I understand why you left the pool area, and how that messed up your day, and I am sure it was upsetting, but your going to the extreme by moving out. You live in apartment complex. There is no apartment out there without "drama". A lot of people live in the apt complex and everybody has issues time to time, you might overhear...get over it.

So all low income residents are trash and should be in Compton? I guess we all know what race the people you are talking about are. That's so racist!

wow, how did race become an issue here? there are many races of people living in compton. I know a few myself and are good people. yes, it was a bad analogy to use about compton, but I get it he was trying to make a point. there are people with issues and yes you will find people with issues wherever you go. some more than others. the worse part of living here is all the construction for the past year, noise issues as well as parking issues. the leasing office has offered no rent credits for any of these issues. a friend in the complex just told me he renewed his lease before they began construction, they never disclosed that to him. now he's stuck living here with all the construction noise for the past 8 months. the leasing office wouldn't give him any rental credit as he asked. they don't care if you stay or go. maybe its a management issue, should they be replacing management and/or staff? you tell me.
