Disappointed in Calabasas

When I became a resident of the swank City of Calabasas, California, I expected my tenancy experience at Malibu Canyon Apartments to be equivalent to the mystique of the city. Unfortunately my experience at the complex did little to meet those expectations.

There are several factors that contributed to my disappointment with my residency the most pronounced of which was the remodeling that has continued for half of my contractual commitment. This construction interrupted my daily workout at the in-house facility, which was a major reason for my decision to lease at Malibu Canyon.

The remodeling of the leasing office limited my ability to enter and exit the complex without impediments of construction vehicles and construction workers. Additionally, the apparent loitering of the maintenance staff proved to be frustrating, the cheap sliding closet doors that required frequent repair was unsatisfactory, and the difficulty to speak with someone with regards to billing during office hours was daunting.

Finally, though the staff has generally been friendly, professional, and accommodating, an event occurred when an employee, a leasing officer I presume, was rude and ill-mannered when I inquired about the terms under which my lease expired. Although, I recognize that this interaction was not representative of the staff collectively, I found his communication to be disturbing and distasteful nonetheless.

I have made efforts to fulfill The Good Neighbor Commitment signed on December 14, 2007 and I expected more than the bear minimum from AIMCO Properties and the Malibu Canyon apartment complex in fulfilling its commitment. With a $1359 per month lease on a 600 Sq. Ft. apartment, I expected more from the facility. My experience has been a disappointment to say the least. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S

I remember that Good Neighbor Commitment. I signed it the day I moved in and had wondered what was up. I pay a lot more for an additional 400 sq ft, and I totally empathize with you. The construction to better the managements way of life is out of control. I live right next to it. I'm wondering why I wasn't told about this when I signed my lease. This place really is crappy, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

What was the name of the staff member that was rude? I have had that same problem with the manager there also.
