EVICTION CENTRAL

There are allot of rumors going around that is pissing allot of us who are still new to this complex. I've only lived here for less than two years, and have seen three of my neighbors all long term residents being evicted. The new manager a -------- woman seems to be dialing 911 on a daily basis to scare residents who complain about the awful management, or evicts them if they complain to AIMCO about her. I've also met allot of angry former residents at the local park who have all relocated to other apartments in the neighborhood. Several of these former tenants had gone to court trying to fight their eviction, however, the judge had told them that the apartment building had the right to evict anyone without a justifiable reason.
From what I have been told the former two managers were both fired after a short but volatile employment period, ironically AIMCO's new manager seems to be even more corrupt than the last two women. I personally called AIMCO asking them why so many residents and former residents are complaining and they politely told me that they are aware of the many complaints against management here, and that they are going to make changes to improve the situation, or the moral here.
I personally don't think much will change, but I'm a journalism student who has decided to make Malibu Canyon my next subject. I've decided to start documenting the complaints and blog the experience of all the residents, and former residents.
My advice to anyone who is planning on moving in is simply DON'T. The apartment building is having a very hard time getting people to move in, and there seems to be no shortage of empty apartments. But if you move here you will be under constant surveillance, and find yourself outraged by the management, or like me furious by the mistreatment of your neighbors.
I'm not sure how AIMCO rates the performance of its management team but it makes no sense keeping a manager who seems to be spending more time on evictions, and court appearances, or calling the local police station on families with children. I've personally met many of these families, and they are not trouble makers but people who are angry that a dispute over mistreatment of their family members, or disregard for their complaints can force them to be evicted. It has created a hostile, untrustworthy, angry environment, and I hope these corrupt, unprofessional, and disrespectful people will be replaced.

AIMCO's tactics have a long history and are ongoing. Good luck on your project.
