I've lived at Malibu Canyon Apartments for a long time and I would not have stayed if the conditions were as these people have stated. The place isn't perfect but the premises are well maintained, the pools are beautiful, and maintenace staff is always at hand to fix a problem with courtesy. I am glad the they supervise the noise from residents who let their kids run wild or who play loud music and have noisy guests.
We moved here for peace and quiet and would wish that everyone had respect for their neighbors right to live here with "quiet peace and enjoyment". I also feel that management is correct in warning residents to clean up their mess--whether it be balconies covered with junk/washing/towels/curtains/fridge or what ever. All this junk spoils the general appearance of the community and makes it look like the "projects". Everyone was notified in writing to clean up and to keep bikes, strollers etc. away from the front of their apartments. Everyone has a storage closet on their balconies for storage of smaller items. Personally, I want the complex to stop loud residents, keep the pools and grounds clean, and prevent people from keeping their balconies as junk yards. If anything the management office could do more to "police" the community. Of course everything isn't perfect and there are some thing I would like to see improved (I've asked for new carpets and windows cleaned etc.,) and but overall I am happy here. I dont know what they re talking about the previous 2 managers being fired...I thought they were both accessible and charming and so were their staff. I have not yet dealt much with current management--A lot of the temporary staff that were here suring the reconstruction of the office and pool are not here anymore and some of them were definitely rude and incompetant

This review goes to show the level AIMCO management will stoop in their rediculous attempt to bury the truth about their dismal track record with their tenants. Being an AIMCO office minion is one step down from spinning a sign on a street corner for $5 off a large cheese pizza. I guess all the unemployed fradulent ex-mortgage broker types found a place to work. The company runs through office staff like toilet paper. Note when they post here, they lie when they check the box that states they do not work for AIMCO. If you thought the credit card companies were fraudulent and use trickery, you haven't seen nothing yet. Do your homework - Go to the AIMCO website and randomly pick a few of their properties (they are the 3rd largest slumloard in the USA) and come back to this site and see what comes up. Routinely, you will find sties with under 30% approval (this includes managements fradulent posts!) as well as people who have been treated miseralbly while living at an AIMCO property and mostly when moving out. You will also find many who were subjects of crime as there is lax security at their sites. DON'T GET FOOLED BY A NICE POOL. ESPECIALLY ONE THAT WILL BE INNUNDATED WITH DRUNK AND STONED COLLEGE KIDS TRYING TO HIT ON YOUR DAUGHTERS AND WIFE. DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, CHECK OUT THE MAIN POOL ON A HOT SATURDAY. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF COOLING YOUR HEALS IN A URINAL.

Oh my goodness! I am a sane person, just like the writer of this review. I accidentally clicked onto here! But I cannot believe the two responses to this very fair and balanced review of Malibu Canyon. The two people who responded to that review are schizophrenics. PARANOID LOONS! Go move away we don't want you crazy people here anyway! Back to my review of Malibu Canyon: it's nice. The only logical complaint was about the CARPORTS BEING F(&*&* the paint was all peeling.... etc.... and they just stripped it down BY THE OFFICE ONLY. I LIVE AT THE DEAD END AND THEY IGNORE US DOWN HERE. THE CARPORTS LOOK LIKE HELL. CAN WE GET SOME PAINT DOWN HERE? THANKS! P.S. LOVE THE NEW POOLS

Management sucks. They never return phone calls. They will post letters on your door as a response to you calling them rather then dealing with you personally. MCA lacks customer service skills completely!!!
