I was moving on business and had to do all the paperwork from another state. I had to state this fact (after being accepted)so many times I had a headache. They asked for the same paperwork at least three times because they misplaced it. That's just the beginning.

I moved in for the summer and after a traumatic personal experience, I had no choice but to move back out of state. Management was uninterested in helping me out and continued to be uncaring even knowing the eent and the amount of stress I had to endure. I know apartments are usually unfair and only want money, but it was violating and offensive to take advantage of a very wrong situation. After giving notice over three months in advance, I had a battle with the manager over because they were trying to say I didn't give notice and would have to pay another month of rent. This is in addition to the 4 months I payed rent while not occupying the premise. (It was cheaper to pay out the lease than it would have been to break it.) I had to physically show them the letter I sent, and it was already in the file. They realized I had in fact given due notice. Unacceptable.

I really didn't appreciate the fact that they didn't notice the difference between a genuine horrible situation and a story. I even had a police report. To say the least, the management staff is uncaring and unorganized. I would like to say that I would never wish my situation on my worst enemy, but I wish it would happen to the management. Maybe then they would understand the extent of what I went through. As awful as that sounds, it's true.

The lesson is: Don't let anything traumatic and beyond your control happen to you. You will get no sympathy by any stretch of the imagination. Not from Camarillo Oaks.
