Yo!

29%'! I'm shocked!

I'm currently in the process of moving to Austin, TX and started searching for apartment ratings on here to gauge what might be a good and what might be a bad apartment to rent from. When I saw some apartments at 40-60%, I thought that wasn't so good. But for the heck of it, I checked up on University Glen, my former apartment in Camarillo. I was completely shocked to see that the overall rating for this complex is a 29%'!

Now I'm convinced that people on this site are overreacting to incidents that have happened to them in this community.

I lived at UG for about a year with a roommate. Only a few times did I have problems with my neighbor blasting their music (at unreasonable hours)...I had to call campus police to knock on their door to shut them up when banging on the door myself didn't accomplish anything.

Other than that, I only had one issue with the appliances there and that was with the dish washer. The day after I phoned in for maintenance to fix the issue, the deed was done, no problem. As for the deposit, I believe I pumped in $500 for our 2 bedroom 2 bath apt and got half of it back. That's even after being lazy...I didn't steam clean the carpets, I left some small scraps of trash behind that I couldn't get to and I didn't even bother scrubbing down the fridge and stove (stoves are NOT fun to clean!).

I am just amazed that so many people brought the rating of this complex down. I rarely feel the need to post comments on sites like these, but I feel the complex needs to be defended here a little.

It's not perfect for sure...parking is very very tight. If you don't get a spot before 7pm or so, good luck! As I mentioned, the walls aren't super thick, but then again most apartments have crappy walls/insulation. Pray you don't get a noisy neighbor who loves to blast bass! The isolated nature of this complex and lower rent (for a luxury apartment in camarillo) is both a blessing and a curse. You have beautiful scenery all around the complex for the most part, but driving to town can be a chore. Want to grab a quick bite at the local fast food joint' There goes 20-30 minutes of your day. So plan ahead before you head home from work. One guy did also mention the hard water stains on your car and I have to agree with him there. You just have to know where to park your car. If you park in the wrong area, you will get some stains on your car from the overnight sprinklers. Just get your car washed and it'll be fine.

But the positives seem to outweigh the negatives here...washer and dryer in-unit (VERY nice), gorgeous views of the surrounding hills, tranquil atmosphere, nice, new apartments...etc etc.

I still really recommend this complex to any/everyone. I didn't really have any problems there and if it were a bit closer to civilization with the same view, I'd have to say that this complex is probably one of the nicest I've ever lived at.
