Nice place, cheap rent

I have lived in Avalon at the Pruneyard for almost 2 years. I have a 2 bedroom (2 bath) on the second floor away from the traffic side and away from highway 17. My rent is $1210 per month which it really great, considering we have a washer dryer in the appartment and the appliances still look fairly new. Plus we have a great workout room that is mostly vacant when I use it (4-5 pm)
Now the buildings are very old so expect some problems. The only problem we have had is bad smells. Some pluming problem which eventually got fixed. Now, I really have no complaints. We love it. Parking is limited but for anyone who lived in the city it isn?t that bad. You are just forced to get a little exercise when you have to park on some side street a block or two away. Do shop around though. I don?t know what they charge for rent these days. I would not pay over 1400 for their two bedrooms because of their age.
Also, do stay away if you have children. As with any older building it has asbestos in the walls. Since the buildings are aging I patched up any holes in any walls to protect ourselves. I found gaps behind the oven, near washer dryer, around all pipes and at the bottom of the main heater. You can buy some expanding form at home depot.
