I really regret living here. It is now Avalon at the Pruneyard. First, the buildings are actually 40 years old, even though they've remodelled recently. This is deceiving. I could hear my neighbor below me when they woke up, when their kids cried, when they had their tv on... also, due to the poor insulation and building, the whole apartment shakes when the kids would run around. poor exhaust system for the appliances/heater. when the neighbors smoked inside, second hand smoke would creep in through the vents.
A couple of the office staff were antagonistic. Didn't want to help you at all and not sympathetic at all. The maintenance supervisor is down right disrespectful. I tried calling the Avalon Bay area supervisor and she was even more worthless. Obviously didn't care that the staff sucked. The maintenance crew took a long time to respond, and then never found the problem or didn't fix it right. usually took 3 or 4 times and then they would make you show them what was wrong. This is difficult cuz most people will have to miss work to do this.
Also, the layout is just poor. The complex is a long row of apartments, like a runway. This means that half of the apartments are over a main driveway/parking lot. Those that aren't are probably over the parking lot of the apartment complex next door, which makes it harder to deal with. There were always people coming in late, breaking glass in the parking lot, setting off alarms, or playing their stereo at 5 am or honking their horns when they picked someone up for work. There are only about a dozen free parking spots, so if you have 2 cars or anyone tries to visit you, there's no parking. no nearby street parking either.
they also seem to try and squeeze every dollar out of you. first they charge for water and sewage, then they tried to raise the rent the maximum 10% plus start charging for garbage.
