When I moved out of Riverwalk, I left my apartment pretty clean. I didn't get it perfectly clean, because most places will usually find something that isn't perfect no matter how much you clean, and they call out a cleaning service anyway and charge you for it. But the place pretty much just needed a professional touch-up cleaning. I WAS CHARGED $250 FOR THIS! (This did not include anything like carpet cleaning, repairs, or painting). I called five professional cleaning services after that, and asked about their rates. If I had hired a cleaning company myself, I would have only had to pay $100-$125 for the same work. I think Riverwalk's manager, Rochelle, has a little deal going with K&C Cleaning--perhaps they give her a kickback, or maybe she is buddies with them. If she cared one bit about tenants and Riverwalk's reputation, she would just hire a different cleaning company. Five out of the five places I called for quotes told me $100-125. And it's not like K&C Cleaning does such an awesome job that might justify charging twice the going rate. They are the same cleaning company that cleaned my Riverwalk apartment before I moved in, and they left grease in the oven, which caused the whole kitchen to fill up in smoke the first time I used the oven. They also left my blinds sticky and dirty, and the inside of the cupboards dirty.
Don't move into Riverwalk--not just because of this post--read the others too. If you've already moved in, remember to hire your own cleaning company when you move out.
