I will start out with the positive:
Good amount of parking (Anything not covered or handicapped is available) Lots of trees and grass makes it pleasing to the eye very close by to Pruneyard and Downtown Campbell 2 laundry rooms Overall friendly people Cardio room/ weight room, pool and hot tub Cool layout for 2 bedrooms (In our unit, 2 bed/2 bath, the living room and kitchen seperate the rooms for privacy, making the living room kind of like a common area-good for room mate situations) Allows for cats and dogs, even bigger dogs. My neighbor has what looks like a golden retriever, yellow lab mix really cool pantry in the kitchen, or ours at least (2 bed 2 bath) quite nice for groceries and such Nice cupboard space in kitchen dishwasher, disposal, and ceiling fan in dining area People are pretty friendly, overall.
Now with the NOT SO GOOD!!
They don't cover water and garbage. That is you. And lately, the past like...5 months, they have been raising the water/garbage bill like 8-10 bucks per month. We now are paying $63 bucks when we first started paying like $35-40 bucks, and our water usage hasn't fluctuated that much. We asked other neighbors if it was doing that in their bill and they agreed it was with their bill as well.
Management are not the most friendly people you have ever met
They have been doing a lot adjusting to the complex, updating it. New toilets that conserve water, changing to energy saving lightbulbs, paint jobs, redoing the patios. While this is certainly well and good, We have a feeling that people who want to renew their leases are gonna get reamed with the new rental rate, for all the fixing up they have been doing!
occasional domestic disputes, depending on where you are.
I don't know about anyone else, but our doors don't fit right...it latches but doesn't close quite right in the frame, the screen doesn't close toward the bottom, like the latch was broken prior to us being there, and they didn't quite fix it right.
They are trying to pain the building some NASTY color, it kind of looks like a McDonalds, some funky orange and reddish mauve color. Right now it is all neutrals and beige, for a complex, that is cool, but they are changing it and it looks like it is gonna be ULGY.
I have personally gotten things stolen from the laundry room, so be prompt about getting wet clothes into the dryer and then to your apt back again!
Back to the water, the water bill is raising like no other, and there is a broken sprinkler that turns into a geyser at like 2 a.m. , quite loud, and really, it has been like that for at least a month. I know we have reported it, since it is right near our window, and I am sure others have too, but nothing has been done. My other point, what is the point of water saving toilets if Ol' Faithful is going off for like 15-20 min every night'
Some dwellers need to clean up after their dogs, cause while there is perfectly good doggie poop bags on the grounds, they just leave them there. For the most part people are good about it, but some.... some is enough if one day you accidentally walk into a pile of poo when you are walking to your car.
I wish the carpets weren't so light. They are kinda a very light off white gray color :(
On weekends, some people drive in and out like idiots, which is rather freaky, since some people leave their cats out, too. Plus simply not good for safety reasons.
For being such a good sized complex, there is one pool that is rather small, and goes to 5 feet. I like that personally, but I know other people would probably like deeper pools. Average sized hot tub. Cardio room not very elaborate- 2 treadmills, One stairmaster, One bike, 2 different elipticals. Weight room are not free weights but the machines, and there are like....3-4 of them' Both rooms are SMALL.
The people who work under the management and all in the staff don't have enough communication going on and things either get mixed up, or they just don't know what is going on.
It is not Hell, but it could be better in a lot of aspects. I am a firm believer in little details make a well rounded experience in anything, and they don't really try to go that extra mile for tenants, or make you feel like your opinion or suggestions are worth much.
If you have pets, especially dogs, and are looking for something with lots of grass and trees, and just want to keep your pet, this is a good location. If you don't really have pets, just looking for a place in Campbell, you may want to search a little bit more, and if this works for you, great. Prices are rising here, the paint job they are working on is UGLY, I feel they are gonna ream whomever comes in for all these nice new things they are doing. If you are a person who likes customer service, satisfaction w/ management, and a friendly communication w/ the management and staff if things are needed, you DEFINITELY want to look elsewhere. My rating: 6/10
