Keep in mind that when you rent here, and are paying top dollar, that this is an OLD building (going on 30 years plus). There are many nice new buildings in the area to consider first.
When you look at a unit that has been "renovated" it actually means they had some unskilled day laborers slap on crown molding, paint and install cheap laminate floors to hide the defects of the property (DO NOT MOVE INTO A DOWNSTAIRS UNIT, you will hear your neighbors clicking day and night on the cheap laminate floors).
You would think with all the competition in the area from new buildings going up that management would try harder to take care of their current customers, nope... The manager in place will find any reason she can to surcharge you or make you pay for maintenance on their old property. The old garbage disposal breaks' Guess what you are paying for it. The 30 year old pipes in the kitchen sink back up' Yep, it's your fault and you will be billed for it. Her favorite quote is "of course you will pay for it, we didn't break it." In fact, if you ask me, I think it's some kind of scam since her son is the maintenance supervisor, or was until recently after many, many years. She also LOVES to make up new "rules" which you will find plastered on your front door at least once a month.
The investment company that owns this building really doesn't seem to care what goes on at their properties, as long as they are turning a profit the manager is given free reign.
Additionally, be prepared when the water is shuf off once or twice a month with no notice when they have to once again patch an old broken pipe...
The building does have video surveillance, but I suspect it is there to protect the management more than the tenets. I've known of several cars stolen right out of the parking lot during the daytime. Oh, and if you have friends visiting they must park on the street or they will be towed even if they are parked in your assigned spot (unless they have one of the $25 parking pass stickers (limit of two)) on the windshield.
