If you want an honest review read mine since I'm living here for almost 2 years: (First I'm sorry for my grammar I'm an ESL person}

I had been visiting others complex some worse some better. To be honest, unless your pockets are dip, probably Canyon Country Villas will suit you and it could be not an entirely bad option if you chose your apartment wisely (also you need to consider the "school factor" all the s. around here are excellent). Then if you were looking around and you were scared by others complex, be careful with your selection in Canyon Country Villas. Location here matters, some sections are little Tijuana, and sadly we know what that means. Also some apartments are obviously crowded and noisy. Overall I feel that I paying to much for what I get.

Amenities THE POOL: Several units -thousands of dollars monthly collected: but the owner seams not to have "the money" to fix the pool heater: with frozen water... swim if you dare, SPA' also frozen -and dirty-. The second pool still been not clean, after 3 months of been closed. I still waiting for the manager to post the pool rules in Spanish. And ask the moms not to let the babies in diapers be on the pool (imagine why I'm saying that and imagine my last summer surprise!!!). BBQ and tables: I fix myself the nearby table. I couldn't support the view and the waiting time...

The landscape: front on the streets and around the manager's office, beautiful. Around were you live not that great... You have two options to have: dirt and dry plants or a swamp, plus trash (it is getting better about the trash lately, but is too soon to see if it is seasonal, a causality or a real improvement). I'm tired to see the gardeners mowing the dirt, and my nearby green spot, were the sprinkle system finally was half fixed. A year ago the manager told me that they will fix the landscape, I'm thinking in buying my self the sod or the seeds.

For a year I asked for a mold problem growing in my ceiling. Finally the new managers -probably because we were more than upset-... fix it-.

We notice the high numbers of people moving in an out in matters of months. We think that we are lucky to live in a unit with not too much problems, is our explanation about this continuous movement and turn over. I ear people having problems with the washer and dryer for more than a year! I don't know what is going on since the new management.

As soon as I move in I notice the police coming in often to the complex. I do not why. I never have an incident to report, and lately it is getting quiet, and the police is not coming often as before. Better selection of tenants' I hope.

The statements from more than three years ago still be up to date:
Be prepared to carry a trash bag around with you so you can pick up trash, because no one else does.
The staff seems very nice but if you need something fixed, hope you can fix it yourself, because the only reason anyone will be going to your apartment is to do an inspection. (Some improvement lately since new managers, too early to be sure. But it is a hope!)
The parking is great, unless you work. Be prepared to wait 30 min for a parking spot to open up a half mile (this is depending in were you live inside the complex). LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.
