Park Sierra Apartments

My apartment isnīt bad, but I wouldnīt recommend this place. From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/14/2003 Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2003   Ive lived here for the past 4 years. I have no excuses for staying here this long except I wanted a garage and a washer/dryer in the unit and this seemed to be the closest to the freeway onramp that I could afford. Ive been very lucky to have the neighbors I have - I only have neighbors on two sides as I live over garages, so there is no one above or below me. My neighbors for the most part are fairly quiet. My biggest problem is ANTS!!! They are in my bathroom, coming out of the exhaust fan. They come out of the electrical outlets. They come out of the drainage holes in the sink. Then of course they are in my dishwasher (AFTER the dishes are clean!) and seem to come out of nowhere! They are usually gone when it finally gets cooler, but for about 4 months they seem to be everywhere! I am also really disappointed in the management - they will only fix something on THEIR time schedule, not yours. I refuse to let anyone have access to my apartment when Im not here (they dont have keys to my locks for just this purpose) so trying to get a time from them is impossible. Ive had to take a couple days off from work just to get my heater going again. They had to fix my toilet 3 times and I also got the message of "you have two bathrooms so just use the other one". Thats not a solution! Ive been fairly lucky with my washer/dryer (knock on wood) because they both work and at the same time too!! HOwever, my dishwasher is CRAP!! I have to run it several times to get my dishes clean - and I always pre-rinse and make sure they are fairly clean before putting them in - so the dishwasher is useless. But what can you expect from a dishwasher that is 20 year old'' I have also had problems with management sending me other peoples 3 day notice of quit. Ive come home to find notices on my door only to find out they are for a different building. I make a fairly good income, but because I live alone, I cant afford anything better. But I get really tired of the gang-bangers that live here with their music thumping. For two years I couldnt open my blinds to let in light because the neighbor across the driveway would have all his friends over and just stand on their balcony and stare in at me. There must have been someone on that balcony at least 60% of the time. It was just easier to keep the blinds closed. Then there are the stupid people who think its good to just leave trashbags full of aluminum cans on their patios! Can you say "BUGS"''''' At least that wasnt in my building. Then there is the great way of making me pay (a single person in a two bedroom apt) the exact same amount to National Water & Power as the 6 people living another apartment. It just doesnt seem right that I should have to pay the same as they do when I only use 1/6 of the water, trash and sewer that they do! So, after being here almost 4-1/2 years, I will be moving in a few months to Kansas where rents are 2/3 the price, but you get 3 times as many amenities! I wish I had known about this rating service before I moved here! I probably wouldnt have!
