Well....I stumbled across this sight while looking for the website for Park Sierra Apts, so Tha I could write a complaint directly to them about the unprofessionalism of lying to tenants. In the last week I have been lied to twice about getting a toilet fixed that is leaking water all over the floor. I was told there was a 48 hr to 72 hr response time. A week later I called back and was told someone would be right over. I am still waiting. But wait...let's back up a bit. As you can see I am a veteran. I have lived here 14 yrs.
When I first moved here in 1989, this was a great place. If you needed something fixed, they were here the next day at the latest. There was visable security, the grounds were always clean. It was quiet and you could leave your doors unlocked if you just wanted to run to the store. In the last two years, I have had someone literally walk into my house and steal a play station2. I have had my window smashed out in my car. I now see grafitti, no signs of security, the grounds are not kept up as well. There is more noise, arguing and such.
The class of people here has definately changed. This is not about race, because I am a minority myself. It is about the class of people they are letting move in here. Basically a bunch of low lifes of every persuation, that could careless about thier living environment.
As for management, obviously this place is not managed well. They are definately not the sunny bunch that workd here when I first moved here in 89'. I have faxes dating two years back in my possesion where I have typed out repairs that I needed. Most have still not been done, and the ones that did get done got done because I put on the pressure. This is going to be something that I will have to do again. See if you learn your rights and record your requests, you can get better results. If verbal requests don't work ..fax or send a certified letter listing what you want fixed. Don't quote me on the time line, but I think if you don't get results after 3 requests or so many days, you can have an outside service fix your problem and deduct it from the rent. Usually if you write Park Sierra and tell them this is what you will do ...they will fix something quickly then. It is unfortunate that one has to go through all of this, but there are laws that protect tenants. If we pay all this money for rent then we should be able to get what we are paying for.
Note that if you are late paying the rent a day..or two they are quick to charge you a fee, or put a pay or move sign on your door. The are very responsive in the areas that benefit them.
I personally am looking for another place to live. This place is on a steady descent. It will be just like projects in no time, so I would not reccommend moving here. Come here late at night on a friday or saturday and cruise around. Scope out the place good..or any place for that matter. Walk around and ask people that live here. The one good post that was put on here was probably put here by management. As you can see the bad post far out number the good!
